Two good-news environmental stories lead this morning.

Researchers say the acid mine runoff that gives an orange tint to many local creeks might be used to produce stronger concrete and the American Lung Association reports the air we breath is cleaner than ever.

In court news, the prosecution rested its case in the Eric Frein homicide trial Tuesday, a local teacher escaped prison in a DUI crash that severely injured a motorcyclist and a postal worker pleaded guilty to stealing $4,000 from the Shavertown post office.

In sports, Penn State’s Connor McGovern will debut at center for the Nitanny Lions at Saturday’s Blue-White game, the position he played at Lake–Lehman High School.
