The Hazleton Festival of Races attracts runners of all ages and abilities.

The Hazleton Festival of Race begins on April 27 at 10 a.m. with the Lehigh Valley 5K run and walk at Hazle Twp. Community Park.

Runners win awards based on their finish in individual races and accrue points for prizes based on their standings in the festival, organized by the Valley Running Club.

The festival includes the following other races through December:

Valley Country Club 5K and 1-mile Hill Climb, May 18, at the club, 79 Club Lane, Sugarloaf at 9 a.m.

Honey Hole Half – a 15K race plus 5K run and walk, June 8 at 9 a.m. , Nescopeck State Park. Children’s runs and a dog jog begin at 8:20 a.m.

Race for the Cherubs 10K run, 5K run and walk and children’s run, Aug. 10. at 8:30 a.m., Eagle Rock Resort.

Town and Trail Race half-marathon, 10K and 5K runs, Oct. 12, Hazleton rail trail.

Freeland 5K and date to be announced.

Christmas in Conyngham 5K run and 1-mile walk on Dec. 7 at 9 a.m.
