A free introduction to fly fishing for women is scheduled for Saturday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge – the former Cherry Valley Golf Course Property,  at 2138 Croasdale Road, Stroudsburg.

This 4-hour educational program is designed for women interested in learning the basics of fly-fishing and will cover the equipment needed, knot tying, fly identification, casting and more. Participants will receive hands on instruction from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

Everyone who attends will leave with a fly fishing booklet, a network of friends to continue your fly fishing and the opportunity to attend free on-water classes held throughout the year.

Class members do not need fishing licenses.
