Earlier this week, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association named more than 2,500 student-athletes from 328 schools to its NFHCA High School National Academic Squad.

Forty-six individuals played in the Wyoming Valley Conference.

According to a news release from the NFHCA, high school seniors and juniors are eligible for selection if they achieved a 3.5 (out of 4.0) GPA through the first quarter of the 2016-17 school year. Scholars of Distinction have achieved a GPA of at least 3.9.
