It’s a rather quiet week in local MAC football this weekend. King’s and Misericordia are both on bye weeks, and Wilkes is on the road as it returns from a bye.
Here’s the full slate of MAC games on tap this weekend:
Wilkes (1-4, 1-3 MAC) at Delaware Valley (4-1, 3-1 MAC)
Stevenson (5-0, 4-0 MAC) at Widener (4-1, 4-0 MAC)
FDU-Florham (2-3, 2-2 MAC) at Albright (3-2, 3-1 MAC)
Wilkes is still searching for its second win after a heartbreaking loss to FDU-Florham in the Colonels’ homecoming game two weeks ago. For a closer look at the Colonels’ matchup at Delaware Valley this weekend, check out the game preview that ran in Friday’s edition of The Citizens’ Voice.
Week 6 Rewind
Can’t remember how last week went in MAC football? Here’s a quick look back at what happened in Week 6:
King’s 42, Misericordia 35
Widener 34, Lebanon Valley 6
FDU-Florham 24, Lycoming 21
The Monarchs survived their shootout with the Cougars despite plenty of yellow flags getting in their way. That was largely thanks to quarterback Zach Whitehead, who earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his perfo
rmance. To read more about how that game went, check out the game story here.
Stevenson enjoyed a bye week but still climbed up the D3football.com and AFCA’s Top 25 polls. The undefeated, conference-leading Mustangs are now No. 18 and No. 19 in those polls, respectively (they were No. 19 and No. 21 last week).
Delaware Valley, which was ranked until losing to Albright last month, is still on the outside of both polls — but not by much. The Aggies received the third-most vote points of unranked schools in each poll this week.
A win over Wilkes will help the Aggies climb back into Top 25 territory. The Mustangs, meanwhile, can really make a case for themselves if they hand Widener its first loss in the conference this weekend.
