No upsets this time — the MAC football’s powers dominated in Week 7.  Here’s a quick look back at how the past weekend went in the conference:

The Scores

Delaware Valley 52, Wilkes 10
Stevenson 45, Widener 21
Albright 59, FDU-Florham 7

Wilkes couldn’t repeat its upset performance over the Aggies from last season. The Colonels were the only local college to play Saturday, as King’s and Misericordia were on their bye weeks.

The Polls
With Delaware Valley’s rout of Wilkes, the Aggies have moved back into the top 25 poll but have yet to crack the AFCA poll again. The Aggies (5-1, 4-1 MAC) — who are in a three-way tie for second in the MAC — climbed back to No. 25 in the rankings. In the AFCA rankings, however, their 51 vote-points leave them seventh of the teams on the edge of the top 25.

Stevenson (6-0, 5-0), meanwhile, continued to move up both polls after handing Widener its first conference loss of the year. The undefeated MAC leaders bumped up three spots to No. 15 in D3football’s poll and advanced five places up the AFCA poll to No. 14.

All of this could drastically change after Saturday. Stevenson is set to host Delaware Valley this weekend at 1 p.m.

The Accolades

No MAC player landed on the Team of the Week, but there was still plenty to praise following the trio of high-scoring victories around the conference.

Delaware Valley’s Dashawn Darden earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for leading his Aggies past Wilkes in a convincing win. The team scored points on all five of its drives in the first half; Darden finished with 245 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, and 79 rushing yards for two more touchdowns.

It’s the second time this season Darden has received a weekly MAC award.

Likewise, it’s the second time Stevenson’s Austin Tennessee has been recognized by the conference after a strong weekend. Tennessee helped the Mustangs top Widener with a pick-six on his way to Defensive Player of the Week honors. His teammate, Preston Addo, gave the Mustangs a halftime lead with his punt return touchdown and earned Special Teams Player of the Week with his score.
