Megan Trivelpiece’s high school softball career may have come to an end nearly two months ago, when Hazleton Area lost in the state championship game.
But Thursday’s release of the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association (PaHSSBCA) all-state team brought reason to celebrate, as the Cougars first baseman was named Player of the Year in Class 6A.
State finalists Hazleton Area and Tunkhannock each had five players selected all-state, as did 2015 and 2016 state champion Holy Redeemer.
Rounding out the list are Pittston Area and Nanticoke Area, which had two selections apiece, bringing the Wyoming Valley Conference to 19 all-state players.
